Vanessa Hope is an accredited mindfulness teacher and honorary lecturer with the Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice, Bangor University. She has trained with teachers both from Bangor and the Center for Mindfulness, Massachusetts. She has a post-graduate diploma with distinction in Mindfulness-Based Approaches and will be teaching on the MSc in Bangor next year. She has regular supervision.
Vanessa has been practicing yoga and meditation nearly 30 years and was led to teaching Mindfulness because of the profound effect it has had on her own life. She attends retreats at Amaravati Buddhist Monastery, Gaia House and with Thich Nhat Hanh.
Vanessa's professional background was as a Homeopath, having been in practice since 1990. She has also lectured at several Homeopathy colleges and been a supervisor for both students and practitioners. She now works full-time as a Mindfulness Instructor running Mindfulness courses and Professional Training and teaching on Bangor's Distance-Learning Course as well as offering supervision.
Vanessa started teaching mindfulness-based courses for the general public in 2001. She has also run community-funded courses for the elderly, low-income groups, social workers, carers and mental health groups. She teaches on Professional Training Programmes and provides the Mindfulness Training for the British Association of Anger Management.
